Mac graduated from Ithaca College in New York with a degree in Sports Medicine. He interned at Coastal Carolina University before accepting an Orthopaedic Surgical Fellowship with the New Hampshire Musculoskeletal Institute in Boston. He completed his Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra. Mac has recently returned from sabbatical at Coastal Carolina University where he taught physiotherapy and his research focused on pain physiology and neuroplasiticity in pain. He is currently a PhD candidate at Monash University, completing his thesis in the neuroplasticity of pain, and consulting at The Physio Centre. His personal interests include golf & sailing.
